Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation, Bengaluru, has introduced exclusive weekend and special-day package tours under its Rajahamsa and Ashwamedha bus categories, offering fixed-fare travel to major pilgrim and tourist destinations across Karnataka.
According to an official press release issued by KSRTC, the special services will operate every Saturday and Sunday, excluding entrance fees and food expenses such as breakfast, lunch and dinner. The initiative has received encouraging public response, prompting the corporation to continue and expand the package tour model.
Gaganachukki Package, Rajahamsa Service
The 340-km Bengaluru–Gaganachukki circuit covers Somnathapura, Talakadu, Madhyaranga and Barachukki before reaching Gaganachukki. Introduced on July 5, 2025, the fare is ₹750 for adults and ₹600 for children.
Gaganachukki Package, Ashwamedha Service
Covering the same 340-km route, this Ashwamedha service was launched on July 20, 2024. The fare is ₹600 for adults and ₹450 for children.
Chikka Tirupati Package, Ashwamedha Service
The 270-km Bengaluru–Chikka Tirupati circuit includes Chikka Tirupati, Kotilingeshwara, Bangaru Tirupati, Avani, Mulbagal, Kurudumale and Kolar. Introduced on June 28, 2025, fares are ₹600 for adults and ₹450 for children.
Melkote Package, Ashwamedha Service
The 350-km route covers Srirangapatna, Kallahalli and Melkote. Launched on May 31, 2025, fares are ₹670 for adults and ₹500 for children.
“Passengers are encouraged to take advantage of these affordable and convenient weekend tour packages,” the corporation stated.
