34-year-old Bosch employee found dead in semi-decomposed state inside locked apartment, torn papers raise questions as police investigate all angles

Bengaluru: A shocking case has emerged from Bengaluru where a 34-year-old woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances inside her rented apartment in Adugodi, raising serious questions and triggering a detailed police investigation.

The deceased has been identified as Puja Dutta, a native of Dhanbad, who was working with Bosch and had been living alone in the city for the past few years.

Body Found in Locked Flat After Foul Smell Alert
The incident came to light on Monday after neighbours reported a persistent foul smell emanating from her third-floor flat. Acting on the complaint, police broke open the door and discovered her nude body lying in a pool of blood, in a semi-decomposed condition.

Forensic experts believe that the death may have occurred two to three days prior to the discovery of the body.

Disturbing Scene Inside the Room Raises Questions
Investigators found the room in a highly disturbed condition, with hundreds of torn paper pieces scattered across the floor and walls. Some papers reportedly contained scribbled lines in Hindi and English, along with repeated mentions of a man’s name, though no coherent message or confirmed suicide note was recovered.

The door was locked from inside, leading police to consider the possibility of suicide, but officials have not ruled out other angles.

Victim Lived Alone, Last Seen on April 23
According to the landlady, Puja Dutta had been staying in the flat for nearly three years and was known to be reserved and introverted. She was last seen on April 23, when she stepped out to buy groceries.

Neighbours also reported unusual behaviour in the days leading up to the incident, including singing loudly late at night, followed by sudden silence.

Police Register Case of Suspicious Death
Police have registered a case of suspicious death and are currently examining all possible scenarios, including mental health distress, personal relationships, and external involvement.

“No conclusive evidence has been found yet. We are investigating all angles,” a police official stated.

Social Media Reactions Reflect Shock and Concern
The incident has sparked widespread discussion on the social media platform X, where users expressed shock over the disturbing details found inside the flat.

“Pooja’s tragic end is heartbreaking. Alone in her Bengaluru room, her torn scribbles whisper of deep pain and isolation,” wrote one user.

Others questioned the psychological toll of urban isolation, highlighting growing concerns about loneliness and mental health among young professionals living alone in metro cities.

Investigation Underway, Awaiting Further Details
Authorities are continuing forensic analysis and questioning individuals connected to the victim to piece together the final moments leading to her death. Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
