CM Praises Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda, Claims Karnataka Ranks No.1 in GDP and Records Highest GST GrowthHaveri: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today announced that the Karnataka Revenue Department has distributed 2.20 lakh land entitlement certificates to beneficiary families so far, marking the second large-scale distribution drive and describing it as a “record achievement” of the government.
Addressing the government’s 1000-day celebrations organised in association with the district administration and the Revenue Department, the Chief Minister inaugurated the land title distribution programme for one lakh beneficiaries and highlighted what he termed as the “pro-people governance model” of the Congress government.
“Our pro-people government has made the state's GDP number one in the country. We have directly deposited Rs 1,18,000 crore into the accounts of people through guarantees,” Siddaramaiah said.
Revenue Department’s ‘Revolutionary Progress’
The Chief Minister praised Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda, stating that the department has witnessed “revolutionary progress” under his leadership. He noted that land title distribution has brought security and dignity to lakhs of families.
Siddaramaiah further claimed that Karnataka is moving at a record pace in GST tax collection, presenting documents to support his assertion that the state’s economy is performing strongly despite what he described as financial injustice from the Centre.
Attack on BJP, Allegations of Central Injustice
The Chief Minister accused the Central government of withholding funds and alleged a shortfall of Rs 12,000 to Rs 15,000 crore in GST compensation. He also claimed that Rs 15,000 crore under the Jal Jeevan Mission has not been released to the state.
Expressing outrage, Siddaramaiah criticized former Chief Minister and current MP Basavaraj Bommai, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi, and BJP leader Jagadish Shettar for allegedly not raising their voice at the Centre over issues concerning Karnataka.
He stated that the government has fulfilled 243 promises since assuming office two years and nine months ago and reaffirmed that remaining commitments will be delivered within the current term.
Inclusive Development and 1000-Day Milestone
Marking 1000 days in office, Siddaramaiah described the milestone as proof of the government’s commitment to inclusive development for Dalits, backward classes, minorities, women and workers. He maintained that only the Congress government delivers on its promises.
Several officers were honoured for exemplary performance during the “Worthy Thousand Days in Public Service, Land Guarantee Dedication Conference” programme. Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar and several cabinet ministers were present at the event.
