Six-Member Women Gang Steals Cash and Gold Worth Thousands from Golden Apartments Using New Deceptive Modus OperandiBengaluru: Panic has gripped parts of the city after a gang of women robbers allegedly executed a daring theft inside a residential complex in Yeshwanthpur, posing as artificial jewellery sellers to gain entry and divert security attention.
In the latest incident reported from Golden Apartments, the gang allegedly stole ₹40,000 in cash along with gold ornaments before fleeing the premises. The entire sequence of events was captured on CCTV cameras installed inside the apartment complex.
How the Theft Unfolded
According to residents, a group of six women arrived at the apartment claiming to sell North Karnataka-style artificial jewellery. Security guards initially stopped them at the entrance. While four of the women engaged the security personnel in conversation and diverted their attention, the remaining two allegedly slipped inside the building unnoticed.
Taking advantage of the distraction, the duo reportedly entered a flat and stole gold ornaments and cash from the house of a security guard residing on the ground floor.
“The entire theft was captured clearly on CCTV cameras. The women acted in coordination and escaped within minutes,” residents said.
New Modus Operandi Raises Alarm
Police sources indicated that the gang appears to be targeting apartment complexes in groups and using deception to bypass security systems. The strategy of posing as jewellery vendors has reportedly become their new modus operandi, allowing them to enter residential premises without arousing immediate suspicion.
A case has been registered, and police are examining CCTV footage to identify and trace the accused. Authorities have urged apartment associations and residents to remain vigilant and verify the credentials of visitors before granting entry.
