Nelamangala: A 25-year-old factory worker lost his life in a tragic industrial accident at SLV Granites Factory near Machohalli Gate in Nelamangala taluk on Saturday, raising fresh concerns over workplace safety in the industrial belt on the outskirts of Bengaluru.


The deceased has been identified as Zubin Nath (25), a native of Assam, who was employed as a labourer at the granite processing unit. According to preliminary police findings, the incident occurred while he was pouring grease into a hydraulic machine as part of routine maintenance work. During the process, he reportedly got trapped between hydraulic stones, suffering severe injuries.

“The worker was critically injured after getting stuck between the hydraulic components of the machine. He was declared dead following the accident,” police sources said.

Police Investigation Underway

Upon receiving information, officials from the Madanayakanahalli Police Station rushed to the spot and conducted a preliminary inspection. The body was later shifted to Nelamangala General Hospital for postmortem examination.


A case has been registered at the Madanayakanahalli police station in connection with the incident. The factory is reportedly owned by Ramesh, and authorities are examining whether safety protocols and operational guidelines were followed at the time of the accident.


Focus on Industrial Safety Measures

The incident has once again highlighted the risks faced by industrial workers, particularly those involved in heavy machinery operations. Police are expected to question factory management and staff to determine if negligence or mechanical failure contributed to the fatal mishap. Further investigation is underway.
