Three people, including a four-year-old girl, lost their lives after a KSRTC bus collided with a motorcycle in Karnataka's Belagavi district
A fatal collision between a KSRTC bus and a motorcycle in Konnur town of Gokak Taluk claimed the lives of three people, including a young child. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation, while authorities are also searching for the bus driver who reportedly left the scene after the accident.
Belagavi, August 06: Three people, including a four-year-old child, were killed in a road accident involving a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus and a motorcycle near Karemma Temple in Konnur town of Gokak Taluk, Belagavi district, on Thursday.
The accident occurred near Karemma Temple in Konnur town of Gokak Taluk, where the government-operated bus collided with a motorcycle carrying three occupants.
According to police, the deceased have been identified as Saif Mulla (29), his four-year-old daughter Sija Saif Mulla, and Imtiyaz Badagaon (35). All three suffered fatal injuries and were declared dead at the scene.
Police confirmed that all three victims died on the spot due to the severity of the impact.
KSRTC Bus and Motorcycle Collision Under Investigation
Preliminary information suggests that the KSRTC bus was travelling from Hidkal towards Gokak, while the motorcycle was heading towards Konnur after leaving the Gokak Falls area.
The collision took place near Karemma Temple, resulting in extensive damage to the motorcycle. Emergency responders and police personnel reached the location soon after receiving information about the crash.
Investigators are examining the circumstances that led to the collision and are collecting evidence from the accident site.
Bus Driver Reportedly Left the Scene
Police officials said the bus driver allegedly left the vehicle and departed from the scene immediately after the accident. Authorities have initiated efforts to trace the driver while legal proceedings continue.
A case has been registered at the Gokak Rural Police Station, and further investigation is underway to determine the exact sequence of events.
Officials said the cause of the accident will be established after completion of the investigation and examination of available evidence.
Separate Multi-Vehicle Crash Claims Another Life in Karnataka
In another road accident reported from Karnataka, a young man lost his life in a separate multi-vehicle collision near Melkunte Gate in Sira Taluk.
The accident involved a bus, a Bolero utility vehicle, and a two-wheeler. The deceased has been identified as Imran (23), a resident of Kote locality in Sira town.
Two other individuals, identified as Nawaz and Allahbaksh, sustained serious injuries and were shifted to hospital for treatment. Police said the exact cause of the collision has not yet been established.
Police Continue Road Accident Investigations
The second accident has been registered at Pattanayakanahalli Police Station, where officers have begun investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Authorities are examining witness statements, vehicle damage, and other available evidence to determine the factors that contributed to both accidents.
The back-to-back fatal road mishaps have once again highlighted concerns over road safety and the need for strict adherence to traffic regulations across Karnataka.
