New Delhi: Delhi Police has issued a public advisory cautioning citizens against sharing unverified information on social media after false reports claimed that a woman protester had died during the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar.
The police clarified that the reports were false and misleading, confirming that the woman is alive and currently undergoing treatment at Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital.
According to Delhi Police, doctors attending to her have confirmed that her condition is stable and that she is out of danger.
"Reports circulating on social media claiming the death of a female protester at Jantar Mantar are entirely false and misleading," Delhi Police said.
Delhi Police Issues Fake News Alert
In an official post on social media, Delhi Police appealed to citizens to verify facts through official sources before forwarding or reposting any information online.
The advisory stated that responsible digital behaviour begins with fact-checking and warned that sharing unverified content could contribute to the spread of misinformation.

Woman Protester Is Stable, Says Police
Delhi Police confirmed that the woman referred to in the viral posts is admitted to RML Hospital.
According to the police, the attending medical team has stated that she is in stable condition and is no longer in danger.

Amid the confusion, unverified eyewitness accounts circulated on social media alleging that a woman had died. These claims were widely shared before any official confirmation.
Delhi Police stated that there is no factual basis for the claim and reiterated that the woman is receiving medical treatment.

The advisory comes amid heightened public attention surrounding the ongoing CJP protests over the alleged NEET-UG 2026 examination irregularities.
