New express and temple connectivity services introduced for commuters in Bengaluru region
Bengaluru: Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has announced the introduction of three new bus routes aimed at improving connectivity, commuter convenience and affordable public transportation across Bengaluru and nearby regions.
The new services will officially begin operations from May 18, 2026, connecting major destinations including Vijayapura, Ghati Subramanya Temple and Nandi Cross.
According to BMTC officials, the move is part of the corporation’s continued efforts to provide efficient, reliable, comfortable and economical transport facilities for daily passengers.
New BMTC routes and services introduced
BMTC has introduced the following new routes for passengers:
EX-298M Express Service
- From: Kempegowda Bus Station
- To: Vijayapura
- Via: Hebbala, Yelahanka, Devanahalli
- Service Type: Limited-stop express service
- Number of buses: 8
- Total daily trips: 47
285-MV Route
- From: Kempegowda Bus Station
- To: Ghati Subramanya Temple
- Via: Hebbala, Yelahanka NES, Doddaballapura
- Number of buses: 5
- Total daily trips: 18
298-MW Route
- From: Devanahalli
- To: Nandi Cross
- Via: Avathi, Venkatagiri Kote
- Number of buses: 3
- Total daily trips: 60
BMTC expands temple and airport-side connectivity
The newly introduced routes are expected to benefit daily commuters, office-goers, airport-side travellers and devotees visiting popular religious destinations such as Ghati Subramanya Temple.
The EX-298M express route will provide faster travel between Bengaluru city and Vijayapura through limited-stop operations via major northern corridors, including Hebbala and Devanahalli.
Meanwhile, the 298-MW service connecting Devanahalli and Nandi Cross is expected to significantly improve last-mile connectivity for passengers travelling towards tourism and pilgrimage locations near Nandi Hills.

Officials stated that the expanded services are expected to reduce dependency on private vehicles and improve regional public transport accessibility around Bengaluru.
