The fatal assault occurred on Thursday night at the family’s residence in Dongargaon village under Mul taluka. According to investigators, the quarrel reportedly erupted over bitter gourd curry prepared for the evening meal, escalating rapidly into violence.

Police officials stated that the accused, identified as Jagdish Petkule, allegedly assaulted his 65-year-old mother, Sumitra, during the altercation. She is believed to have succumbed to injuries at the spot before medical assistance could arrive.
