NTA publishes a subject-wise timetable for the UGC NET June 2026 examination to be held from June 22 to June 30 in CBT mode


NewsFlash Desk: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the subject-wise examination schedule for the UGC NET June 2026 session. The examination will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode from June 22 to June 30, 2026, across designated centres in the country.


The schedule, published through an official public notice dated June 6, provides candidates with subject-specific exam dates and shift timings. Aspirants preparing for the eligibility test are advised to review the timetable carefully and make final preparations accordingly.


UGC NET is conducted on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC) to determine eligibility for Assistant Professor positions, Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), and PhD admissions in various disciplines.

“The UGC-NET June 2026 examination will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode from June 22, 2026, to June 30, 2026,” the NTA stated in its official notification.

UGC NET June 2026 Exam Dates and Shift Timings

The examination will be conducted in two shifts each day:

  • Shift 1: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Shift 2: 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Several major subjects, including Education, Commerce, History, Political Science, English, Hindi, Mass Communication and Journalism, Computer Science, Law, Sociology, Economics, Management and Environmental Sciences, have been scheduled across different dates during the examination period.


Candidates must appear only on the date and shift allotted to their respective subject.


UGC NET June 2026: Mass Communication and Journalism Exam Date

One of the key subjects for media and communication aspirants, Mass Communication and Journalism (Subject Code 063), has been scheduled for:

  • Date: June 23, 2026
  • Shift: Shift II (3:00 PM to 6:00 PM)

The subject is expected to witness participation from thousands of candidates seeking eligibility for teaching and research careers in journalism and communication studies.


UGC NET June 2026: City Intimation Slip Before UGC NET Examination

The NTA has announced that details regarding the allotted examination city will be released approximately 8 to 10 days before the examination date.


Candidates will be able to access the City Intimation Slip through the official UGC NET portal. The agency clarified that this document is intended to inform candidates about the city where their examination centre is located and is separate from the admit card.

“The notification regarding intimation of the City of Exam Centre will be displayed on the NTA website 8 to 10 days before the examination.”
