A powerful air conditioner explosion at a crusher plant in Uttar Pradesh's Mahoba district claimed the life of a 20-year-old worker and left another seriously injured
Mahoba: An industrial accident claimed the life of a young man and left another critically injured after an air conditioner allegedly exploded inside a rest room at a crusher plant in Uttar Pradesh's Mahoba district. The incident has raised concerns about workplace safety and the maintenance of cooling systems during the intense summer season.
The explosion occurred on Thursday afternoon at the Bundelkhand Enterprises crusher plant located in Gugaura village under the jurisdiction of Panwari Police Station.
“The victims were rushed to a nearby health facility immediately after the explosion, but one of them succumbed to his injuries.”
Mahoba AC Blast Turns Fatal
According to police officials, the blast took place at around 4 pm inside a rest room where the air conditioning unit was installed. The force of the explosion reportedly caused severe injuries to two individuals present near the site.
Emergency responders and local authorities rushed to the scene soon after receiving information about the incident. The injured victims were immediately shifted to the Community Health Centre in Panwari for urgent medical attention.
One Dead, Another Fighting for Life
Authorities confirmed that a 20-year-old man lost his life as a result of the injuries sustained in the explosion. Another individual remains critically injured and is undergoing treatment.
Officials are monitoring the condition of the injured victim while investigators work to determine the exact circumstances that led to the incident.
Investigation Underway Into AC Explosion
Police have initiated an inquiry to establish the cause of the blast. Technical experts may also be consulted to examine whether the explosion was triggered by a mechanical failure, electrical fault, overheating, or maintenance-related issues.
The crusher plant management is expected to cooperate with authorities as the investigation progresses.
Workplace Safety Concerns Resurface
The incident has once again highlighted the importance of regular maintenance and safety inspections of electrical appliances and cooling systems, especially during periods of extreme heat when air conditioners operate continuously for extended durations.
Safety experts emphasise that industrial facilities must ensure proper servicing of electrical equipment and adherence to safety standards to prevent similar accidents.
Further details are expected as the investigation continues.
