Short circuit triggers late-night fire in moving train, quick action halts disaster as passengers escape unharmed
Ballari: Panic gripped passengers aboard the Hampi Express after a fire broke out late Wednesday night while the train was en route from Ballari to Bengaluru. The incident, suspected to have been caused by a short circuit, occurred near Hagari village.
According to initial reports, flames were noticed while the train was in motion. The fire is believed to have originated due to an electrical short circuit, triggering alarm among passengers.
Swift Response Prevents Major Tragedy
Railway staff acted swiftly, stopping the train immediately after detecting the fire. Emergency measures were taken to contain and extinguish the blaze before it could spread to other compartments.
“The situation was brought under control quickly, preventing any casualties,” officials said.
