Police in Uttar Pradesh’s Bhadohi district registered a case against six people after a Dalit woman was allegedly abducted just five days before her wedding, sparking outrage and an urgent investigation
Bhadohi: In a disturbing incident from Uttar Pradesh, a Dalit woman was allegedly abducted just five days before her wedding, prompting police in Bhadohi district to register a criminal case against six individuals.
The case has triggered concern in the region, with authorities launching an investigation after the victim’s father submitted a formal complaint.
According to officials, the accused are residents of Fattupur village, which falls under the Suriyawan police station area in Bhadohi district.

Responding to NewsFlash Daily™, Bhadohi Police said in a tweet on “X” that, “Based on a written complaint received by the local police station, a case has been registered and investigative proceedings have been initiated.”
Case Registered on Father’s Complaint
Superintendent of Police Abhinav Tyagi said police acted swiftly after receiving a written complaint from the woman’s father.
Based on the complaint, a case was registered on Sunday evening against six accused persons allegedly involved in the abduction.
The accused have been identified as:
- Teju Bind
- Sheshdhar (father of Teju Bind)
- Mewati Bind (mother of Teju Bind)
- Shivam Bind
- Sahab Lal
- Ramnath Bind
“Police have registered the case, and an investigation is underway,” officials said.
Bride Missing Days Before Wedding
The alleged abduction took place only five days before the woman’s scheduled marriage, adding urgency to the case.
Police teams are now working to trace the missing woman and verify the circumstances surrounding the allegations.
Authorities have not yet disclosed whether the accused and victim knew each other previously or whether any family dispute was involved.
Search Operation and Investigation Underway
Officials said multiple teams may be deployed to locate the woman and apprehend the accused.
