Raipur: A serving officer of the Indian Air Force (IAF) was found dead at his residence in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, prompting authorities to initiate an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, according to officials.
IAF Officer Found Dead in Raipur Residence
Police said Wing Commander Vipul Yadav (39) was discovered dead inside his residence located in the Vidhayak Colony area of Raipur on Wednesday morning. The area falls under the jurisdiction of the Telibandha police station.
Initial information suggests the officer was living at the residence where the incident occurred. A domestic staff member reportedly discovered him and alerted authorities shortly thereafter. Police teams reached the spot and initiated preliminary procedures.
Officer Was Posted in Anti-Naxal Operations
Officials confirmed that Yadav was actively serving on assignments related to anti-Naxal operations, a critical security task undertaken by defence and security agencies in parts of central India. His role involved operational responsibilities linked to counter-insurgency efforts.
Sources indicated that the officer was assigned to these duties at the time of the incident.
Police Begin Investigation
Local police officials said that a probe has been launched to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the death. Standard legal procedures are being followed, including examination of the scene and recording statements of individuals associated with the residence.
