Mangaluru: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow Alert for the coastal districts of Karnataka as temperatures continue to rise across the state, warning residents to take precautions against rising heat.
According to officials, several districts in Karnataka have recorded above-normal temperatures, prompting authorities to advise the public to remain cautious, stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during peak afternoon hours.

The IMD has issued a Yellow Alert for the coastal districts of Udupi, Mangaluru (Dakshina Kannada), and Uttara Kannada, warning that temperatures and humidity are expected to rise significantly over the next two days.
Meteorological authorities cautioned that extreme heat could affect public health, especially for the elderly, children, and people working outdoors.
Officials said the weather conditions may lead to heat stress and dehydration, urging residents in coastal areas to remain vigilant.
