Three-year-old leopard dies after being struck by unidentified vehicle near Bannerghatta NICE Road; forest officials conduct inspection
Anekal: A three-year-old female Leopard was killed after being hit by an unidentified vehicle on the NICE Road near Anekal in Bengaluru district late Saturday night, forest officials confirmed.
Accident Near Bannerghatta NICE Road
According to reports, the accident occurred around 1:00 a.m. on the Bannerghatta stretch of the NICE Road when an unidentified vehicle allegedly struck the leopard.
Due to the impact of the collision, the animal suffered severe injuries and fell off the roadside slope, where it died on the spot.
Forest Officials Inspect the Spot
After receiving information about the incident, officials from the Kaggalipura Forest Range rushed to the location and conducted an inspection.
Forest department authorities confirmed that the dead animal was a female leopard estimated to be around three years old.
Carcass Shifted for Further Procedure
Following the inspection, forest staff took custody of the leopard’s carcass and shifted it to the forest department office for further procedures, including a post-mortem examination.
Officials said they will also attempt to identify the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run as part of the investigation.
