Bengaluru: The Special Investigation Team, SIT, probing the suicide of businessman C. J. Roy is in the final stages of its investigation and is expected to submit its report to the city police commissioner soon. Officials said the complete findings of the case will become clear once the report is formally presented.
According to sources, the SIT examined four major aspects during the course of its inquiry — Income Tax raids, business dealings, investment patterns and family-related matters. Investigators have scrutinised several documents and financial records as part of the probe.
The team has also recorded statements from office staff, business associates, Income Tax officials and members of Roy’s family.
Roy’s death had shocked both his family and the business community in Bengaluru. Known for taking bold decisions in his professional life, his alleged suicide raised several unanswered questions. Family members had expressed surprise over his decision, stating that they were unaware of any immediate distress that could have led to such a drastic step.
Police officials indicated that the SIT’s final report, expected within the next few days, will shed light on the circumstances and possible reasons behind the incident.
The case remains under investigation, and authorities have refrained from drawing conclusions until the report is officially submitted.
