Electrical Short Circuit Triggers Blaze at Ashlesha Online Service Centre Near Kannukere

Kundapur: A major fire broke out at Ashlesha Online Service Centre near Kannukere along National Highway 66 in Kundapur on Monday night, completely destroying equipment and materials inside the premises. The loss is estimated to be over Rs 6 lakh.

The incident occurred at around 9.15 pm on February 16 at the shop, which had been operating for the past year at Kannukere Srinavashakti Kalyana Mantap on NH-66.

According to sources, the shop owner, Phaniraj Hathwar Koravadi, had locked the premises and returned home as usual when an electrical short circuit allegedly triggered the blaze. The fire rapidly spread inside the shop, gutting computers, printers, stationery items, inverter battery, chairs, tables and other equipment.

Youths Act Swiftly

Upon noticing the fire, local youths including Vadiraj Ganiga of Kannukere, Karthik, Shekhar Devadiga, Bharat and Vignesh rushed to the spot and attempted to control the flames.

Personnel from the Karnataka Fire and Emergency Services in Kundapur also arrived promptly and succeeded in dousing the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby structures.
