Chikkaballapura Murder Case Shocks Karnataka; Police Detain Lover, Probe On
Chikkaballapura: A deeply disturbing murder case has come to light from Chikkaballapura, where a married woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her lover, leaving her two minor children orphaned. The incident has sent shockwaves across the district, highlighting the tragic consequences of a volatile personal relationship.
According to police sources, the deceased, Tejaswini (26), had been living separately from her husband due to prolonged family disputes. She was residing alone with her two young children, surviving on her income from a hotel job. The hotel management had provided her a single-room accommodation, where she was raising her children under challenging circumstances.
During her employment, Tejaswini came into contact with Sandeep (20), and the two allegedly developed an illicit relationship. Investigators say frequent arguments between the couple eventually turned fatal, culminating in Tejaswini’s death.
Children Orphaned, Heartbreaking Scenes
The aftermath of the incident has left the local community shaken. While Tejaswini’s body remains in the mortuary, her three-year-old child, unaware of the tragedy, was seen playing in the arms of relatives. Her ten-year-old son, who has come to understand the reality of his mother’s death, broke down inconsolably. Family members and locals described the scenes as emotionally devastating.
Relationship Turned Violent
Police stated that Tejaswini met Sandeep at the hotel where she worked. About a month ago, the pair reportedly rented a separate house and began living together, attempting to start a new life. However, two days before her death, they were staying at the house of Tejaswini’s friend Aruna, where they allegedly consumed alcohol and argued intensely.
Investigators allege that during the altercation, Tejaswini attacked Sandeep in an intoxicated state. In response, Sandeep allegedly used a knife he carried for cutting liquor sachets and struck her in the abdomen. She suffered severe bleeding and was rushed to a hospital, where doctors treated her and stitched the wound.
Medical Complications Led to Death
After returning home, Tejaswini reportedly failed to take prescribed medication and instead consumed alcohol before sleeping. Police say this caused the wound to become septic, leading to severe abdominal infection. Her condition deteriorated overnight, and despite being rushed back to the hospital the next morning, she succumbed to multi-organ failure, officials confirmed.
“The accused has been taken into custody and is being questioned. Based on medical and forensic reports, further legal action will be initiated,” a senior police officer told.
Chikkaballapura police have detained Sandeep and registered a case. During interrogation, he allegedly claimed that Tejaswini was pressuring him for money and alcohol, leading to repeated disputes. He told investigators that the stabbing occurred accidentally during a heated argument. Police said all angles, including culpable homicide, are being examined.
