Triple fatality reported as a high-speed truck crashes into a bike in Raichur; police launch manhunt using CCTV footage
Raichur: In a tragic road accident that has once again raised concerns over reckless driving, three youths were killed on the spot after a speeding truck rammed into their motorcycle at Basaveshwara Circle in Raichur on Friday, police officials confirmed.
The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Ali, Fayaz, and Noor Ahmed. According to preliminary information, all three were travelling on a single motorcycle when the fatal collision occurred, resulting in instant death due to the severity of the impact.
Details of the Incident:
As per police sources, the truck was moving at very high speed from the Hyderabad route towards Mantralayam when it collided head-on with the motorcycle near Basaveshwara Circle. The force of the collision completely mangled the two-wheeler, leaving the riders with fatal injuries, officials said.
Driver Flees the Scene:
Eyewitnesses stated that the truck driver fled the scene immediately after the crash, escaping with the vehicle and leaving the victims unattended on the road. The act has sparked public outrage, with locals condemning the lack of responsibility shown by the driver.
Police Action and Investigation:
Police personnel rushed to the spot soon after receiving information and shifted the bodies to the district hospital for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered, and a special team has been formed to trace the absconding truck and its driver. Investigators are examining CCTV footage from major junctions and surrounding areas to identify the vehicle involved.
“The accident appears to have been caused by overspeeding. We are analyzing CCTV footage and will soon identify the vehicle and the driver involved,” a senior police officer said.
Officials added that further action will be taken once the accused is traced, and strict legal measures will be initiated under relevant sections of the law.
