Mallamma says she will not challenge the Karnataka High Court order granting bail to Vinay Kulkarni and will instead focus on her children's future
The Karnataka High Court's decision to grant bail to former minister Vinay Kulkarni in the Yogesh Gowda murder case has prompted differing responses from the victim's family. While Yogesh Gowda's brother has indicated that he will continue the legal battle before the Supreme Court, Yogesh Gowda's wife, Mallamma, has said she will not challenge the High Court's order and will instead prioritise her children's future.
Dharwad: Yogesh Gowda's wife Mallamma has said she will not approach the Supreme Court of India to challenge the Karnataka High Court's order granting bail to former minister Vinay Kulkarni in the Yogesh Gowda murder case.
Her statement comes after the Karnataka High Court granted bail to Vinay Kulkarni, suspended his life sentence and stayed the conviction recorded by the trial court pending disposal of his appeal.
While Mallamma has decided not to pursue further legal action, Gurunath Gowda, the brother of the deceased Yogesh Gowda, and several supporters have indicated that they are prepared to move the Supreme Court against the High Court's order.
Mallamma Accepts Karnataka High Court Verdict
Responding to questions from reporters regarding the High Court's decision, Mallamma said she accepted the judicial process and would not question the court's ruling.

She said court proceedings are governed by law and that no one can predict the outcome of a case before a judgment is delivered.
"Everything is left to the court and the honourable judge. No one knows in advance what verdict the court will deliver. The court's decision is final. I do not feel this verdict has set us back," Mallamma said.
Mallamma Says Children's Future Is Her Priority
Explaining her decision not to continue the legal battle, Mallamma said she wants to focus on her children's education and future rather than pursuing further litigation.
She stated that she would not challenge the High Court's order before the Supreme Court and had decided to step away from the legal proceedings.
"I will not continue any legal battle. I will not approach the Supreme Court. My children's education, their future and the development of the people of my constituency are important to me. That is why I have decided to stay away from this legal battle," she said.
Mallamma Calls for Peace Instead of Hatred
Mallamma also said she did not wish harm upon anyone despite the circumstances surrounding the case.
According to her, hatred does not provide a solution, and she wishes well even for those who may have caused hardship in her life.
"No matter how badly someone has treated me, I only wish them well. Nothing can be achieved through hatred," she said.
Brother Plans to Move Supreme Court
While Mallamma has ruled out approaching the Supreme Court, Yogesh Gowda's brother Gurunath Gowda and others associated with the case have stated that they intend to continue the legal battle by challenging the Karnataka High Court's order.
The Karnataka High Court, on July 31, granted bail to Vinay Kulkarni and several co-accused, suspended their sentences and stayed the conviction recorded by the trial court while the criminal appeals remain pending.
The differing positions taken by members of Yogesh Gowda's family have drawn attention following the High Court's order. The final outcome of the case will depend on the disposal of the pending appeals and any further proceedings before higher courts.
