Bengaluru Central Municipal Corporation has urged citizens to cooperate with the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process and avoid visiting Booth Level Officers to collect enumeration forms

The Bengaluru Central Municipal Corporation (BCMC) has appealed to residents to cooperate with the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls by allowing Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to distribute enumeration forms during door-to-door visits. Officials have clarified that citizens should not approach BLOs to obtain forms, as this is disrupting the survey process.

Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Central Municipal Corporation (BCMC) has urged residents to cooperate with the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and avoid visiting Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to collect enumeration forms. The civic body said the door-to-door verification exercise, being carried out under the directions of the Election Commission, is progressing across its jurisdiction and requires public cooperation for timely completion.

The SIR process, which commenced on June 30, 2026, will continue until July 29, 2026, covering 63 wards spread across six Assembly constituencies under the Bengaluru Central Municipal Corporation.

BLOs to Visit Every Household Under Bengaluru SIR Process

According to the civic body, BLOs have been assigned to visit every household within the corporation limits to distribute enumeration forms directly to eligible voters.

Citizens have been instructed to fill in the required details, affix a recent photograph, sign the form, and hand it back to the BLO during the verification process.

Officials clarified that there is no requirement for residents to visit BLOs to obtain the forms.

"Citizens need not approach Booth Level Officers to collect enumeration forms. BLOs will visit every household and distribute the forms as part of the SIR process," said Bengaluru Central Municipal Corporation Commissioner Jagadish G.

Bengaluru Citizens Asked Not to Crowd BLOs

The corporation said many residents have been arriving in groups to collect enumeration forms directly from BLOs, causing confusion and disrupting the ongoing fieldwork.

Officials explained that the practice is slowing down the house-to-house verification exercise and making it difficult for BLOs to complete the survey efficiently.

The civic body has therefore appealed to citizens to remain at home and wait for BLOs to visit their residences instead of approaching them individually.

Bengaluru Central Municipal Corporation Appeals for Public Cooperation

Commissioner Jagadish G. emphasised that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) is an important national exercise aimed at updating electoral records and ensuring the accuracy of voter information.

He urged residents to cooperate fully with BLOs by providing the required information, attaching their photograph, signing the enumeration form, and returning it during the home visit.

"The SIR process is an important national exercise. Citizens are requested to cooperate with Booth Level Officers and help complete the enumeration process successfully," Commissioner Jagadish G. said.

Officials said active public participation is essential for the smooth completion of the electoral revision process and to ensure that voter records remain accurate and up to date.
