Bengaluru East City Corporation reviews key road, railway and junction projects to accelerate infrastructure development and improve traffic movement
The Bengaluru East City Corporation (BECC) has directed officials to speed up ongoing infrastructure projects, including road widening, junction improvement and railway overbridge works, through inter-departmental coordination. The review focused on ensuring timely completion of projects while maintaining public safety and reducing inconvenience during construction.
Bengaluru: Additional Commissioner Lokhande Snehal Sudhakar conducted inspections of major infrastructure projects across the Bengaluru East City Corporation (BECC) limits and instructed officials to complete all pending works within the stipulated timeframe.
The inspections were carried out along with officials from the Railway Department, Revenue Department and the City Corporation to assess the progress of road, railway and junction development projects aimed at improving traffic movement and public infrastructure.
During the visit, the Additional Commissioner reviewed the status of each project and discussed technical, administrative and land acquisition issues with the concerned departments. Officials were directed to expedite pending procedures and strengthen coordination to avoid delays.
Bagmane Junction Development Work Reviewed
The Additional Commissioner inspected the junction improvement work being executed under the Suraksha-75 project at Bagmane Junction on the Outer Ring Road.
Considering the heavy traffic volume at the junction, officials were instructed to complete the project within the scheduled timeline while maintaining construction quality.
During the inspection, directions were issued to ensure proper barricading, installation of signboards and implementation of traffic management measures so that commuters face minimal disruption throughout the construction period.

Railway Overbridge at Carmelaram Level Crossing Reviewed
The inspection also covered the proposed Railway Over Bridge (ROB) at Level Crossing-132 near Carmelaram railway station.
The Additional Commissioner reviewed the current status of the project with Railway officials and directed all concerned departments to ensure that technical and administrative approvals are completed without delay.
Officials were instructed to maintain close coordination to facilitate the timely execution of the railway infrastructure project.
Kadubeesanahalli–Panathur Road Widening Project Under Review
The Additional Commissioner inspected the proposed 18-metre road widening project connecting Kadubeesanahalli, the Outer Ring Road S-Cross and Panathur.
According to officials, the road development project is expected to improve traffic flow in the area once completed.
The concerned departments were instructed to expedite pending land acquisition procedures, Transferable Development Rights (TDR) processes and Revenue Department approvals to avoid project delays.
Officials Directed to Clear Pending Infrastructure Files
During the review, the Additional Commissioner instructed officials across departments to prioritise pending files related to infrastructure development and obtain administrative approvals at the earliest.
He also directed departments not to keep development proposals pending unnecessarily and asked officials to resolve issues affecting project implementation through coordinated action.

Coordination Emphasised for Timely Completion of Projects
The Bengaluru East City Corporation, Railway Department, Revenue Department and other agencies have been directed to work together to complete infrastructure projects within the prescribed timelines while maintaining construction quality and minimising inconvenience to the public.
The Additional Commissioner said regular site inspections would continue to monitor the progress of ongoing works and ensure that infrastructure projects are completed as planned.
Officials from the Railway Department, TDR Division, Revenue Department, Engineering Division and other departments participated in the inspection.
