Police arrest father and relatives after a 15-year-old girl was allegedly murdered over a suspected interfaith relationship in Uttar Pradesh
Lucknow: A horrifying murder case from Uttar Pradesh has sparked outrage after a man was arrested for allegedly killing his teenage daughter over suspicion of an interfaith relationship and attempting to dispose of her body to hide the crime.
According to Uttar Pradesh Police, the accused has been identified as Biggan Ansari, a resident of Kushinagar district. Police said he allegedly committed the crime with the help of his sister, Noorjahan and brother-in-law Mojibulla Ansari. All three accused have been arrested.
The victim, identified as Shaba, was only 15 years old.
Kushinagar Teen Murder Linked to Suspected Relationship
Police officials stated that the accused had allegedly suspected the teenager was involved in an interfaith relationship, which reportedly triggered tensions within the family. Investigators believe the murder was planned to silence the girl and prevent the relationship from continuing.
Authorities revealed that after the killing, the accused allegedly attempted to dispose of the body in different locations to avoid detection and mislead investigators.
The incident has shocked residents across Uttar Pradesh and intensified conversations around honour-based violence and crimes against young women.
“The accused attempted to destroy evidence by disposing of the body parts separately. All angles are being investigated,” police officials stated.
Body Parts Recovered from Pond and Train
Investigators said the victim’s head was recovered from a pond in Kushinagar district, while the torso was discovered earlier on May 17 inside the Chhapra-Gomti Nagar Express train.
According to officials, railway cleaning staff found a suspicious trunk and bag inside coach S-1 of train number 15114 after the train reached Gomti Nagar Railway Station. The discovery immediately alerted authorities, leading to a large-scale investigation.
Police later connected the railway recovery with the missing girl case and eventually traced the crime back to the family members.
UP Police Probe Honour Killing Angle
Teams from the Government Railway Police and district police reportedly worked together to identify the victim and reconstruct the sequence of events.
Investigators are now examining phone records, family interactions, and movements of the accused before and after the crime. Officials are also verifying whether any additional individuals helped in transporting or disposing of evidence.
