Actress Twisha Sharma to receive final farewell at Bhadbhada crematorium amid ongoing SIT investigation
Bhopal: A major development has emerged in the high-profile death case of Twisha Sharma after her family confirmed that the actress’s final rites will be performed in Bhopal following the completion of a second postmortem examination at AIIMS.
According to family members, Twisha Sharma’s funeral will take place at 5 PM today at the Bhadbhada crematorium in Bhopal.
The decision was officially confirmed by her brother Harshit Sharma, who stated that the family unanimously decided to perform the last rites in Bhopal instead of Delhi or any other city.
The update comes after a high-level second postmortem examination was conducted under strict supervision by a panel of specialist doctors at AIIMS Bhopal.
Second Postmortem Conducted Under Tight Monitoring
The controversial death case has attracted nationwide attention after the family repeatedly raised concerns regarding the findings of the initial postmortem report.
Officials confirmed that a second forensic examination was conducted by a five-member expert panel led by senior forensic specialists from AIIMS Delhi.
According to reports, the expert medical team arrived in Bhopal via a special chartered flight to oversee the re-postmortem process with advanced forensic scrutiny.
Authorities stated that the entire procedure was videographed under court guidelines to maintain transparency and ensure preservation of evidence.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is currently probing the case, remained deployed at the AIIMS campus throughout the process.
“The family expects the second postmortem to reveal important facts related to the case,” sources stated.
Family Seeks Justice in Twisha Sharma Death Case
Twisha Sharma’s parents and brother were seen arriving at AIIMS in an emotional state as the legal and forensic procedures continued.
The family has consistently demanded a detailed and impartial investigation into the actress’s death and expressed dissatisfaction with earlier findings.
Following reports that the Supreme Court of India took suo motu cognisance of the matter, family members stated that they now have faith in the legal process.
Brother Harshit Sharma reportedly said that their fight is not only for Twisha Sharma but also for justice for every daughter facing injustice.
Accused Husband Remains Under Investigation
Meanwhile, police officials continue questioning Twisha Sharma’s husband, Samarth Singh, as part of the ongoing investigation.
Authorities have not yet publicly disclosed complete findings from the second postmortem examination, and officials stated that further legal action will depend on forensic reports and SIT findings.
The funeral procession is expected to proceed directly to the Bhadbhada crematorium after the actress’s body is formally handed over to the family.
