Bike accident in Sirsi escalates into violent street clash as CCTV footage helps police identify accused youths
Sirsi: Tension gripped Sirsi in Uttara Kannada district after a minor bike accident reportedly escalated into a violent gang clash between two groups of youths in the busy Simpigalli area. The incident, which created panic among residents and commuters, led to the registration of a criminal case against six youths by the Sirsi Town Police Station.
According to police officials, the clash erupted following an earlier altercation linked to a two-wheeler accident that took place near Devikere on the night of May 21. What initially began as a verbal argument reportedly intensified into a larger confrontation after youths from both groups encountered each other again in Simpigalli.
The sudden outbreak of violence in the middle of the road shocked local residents, with several people gathering at the spot as the confrontation escalated into a public street fight.
Sirsi CCTV Footage Captures Violent Youth Clash
The entire incident was captured on a nearby CCTV camera, which later became crucial evidence for the police investigation. Visuals from the footage reportedly showed youths aggressively attacking each other in the middle of the street, triggering fear in the surrounding locality.
Based on the CCTV evidence and preliminary investigation, police registered an FIR against six accused identified as Ayan Tinmaker, Sarfaraz Tinmaker, Adil Sakkar Khan, Abhay Hudar, Sarvesh Hiremath and Akash Kundangar.
Police sources stated that further investigation is underway to determine whether additional individuals were involved in the clash and to identify the exact sequence of events leading to the violence.
“The situation in Sirsi is currently under control, and police personnel have intensified patrolling to prevent further untoward incidents.”
