VTU Belagavi sends BE and B.Tech final semester results to over 56,000 students directly on WhatsApp using automated digital evaluation technology
Belagavi: Visvesvaraya Technological University has created a historic milestone in India’s engineering education sector by declaring the BE and B.Tech final semester examination results within just 10 minutes after the completion of the examinations. The university’s unprecedented achievement has drawn nationwide attention after more than 56,000 engineering students received their results directly on WhatsApp almost instantly after the exams concluded.
VTU, one of the country’s largest technological universities with more than 200 affiliated engineering colleges across Karnataka, successfully implemented a fully automated digital evaluation system that enabled rapid result processing and real-time publication. The university announced the final semester results at 5:40 pm on Friday, merely 10 minutes after the last examination ended at 5:30 pm.
The breakthrough has been hailed as a landmark transformation in India’s higher education examination system, especially at a time when students across universities often wait weeks or months for results.
VTU Result 2026 Declared on WhatsApp for 56,192 Students
A total of 56,192 students appeared for the BE and B.Tech final semester examinations conducted by VTU this year. According to university officials, the implementation of advanced digital software enabled automatic answer-sheet evaluation and immediate result generation once the final internship practical marks were uploaded to the university server.
Students received their results directly through WhatsApp messages on their registered mobile numbers, making the process faster, transparent and student-friendly. The university also recorded an extraordinary pass percentage of 99.98 percent, making this one of the most successful result announcements in VTU’s academic history.
The initiative is expected to significantly benefit final-year engineering students seeking placements, internships, higher education admissions and overseas opportunities, where timely result announcements play a crucial role.
Automatic Digital Evaluation System Speeds Up VTU Results
University authorities confirmed that the answer sheets were evaluated using state-of-the-art digital technology integrated into VTU’s centralised software system. Once answer scripts were uploaded, the software automatically processed and evaluated them with high accuracy and efficiency.
Officials stated that theory examinations had already concluded on May 19, allowing the university to prepare most of the result database in advance. After the final internship practical examination scores were uploaded on Friday evening, the system instantly generated and published the final results.
This technology-driven approach drastically reduced the conventional evaluation timeline and showcased how digital innovation can modernize examination management in Indian universities.
“The student-friendly digital evaluation model has ensured faster results and reduced anxiety among final-year students waiting for jobs and higher studies opportunities.”
VTU Vice Chancellor Praises Staff for Historic Achievement
VTU Vice Chancellor Prof. S. Vidyashankar and Registrar U.J. Ujwal congratulated the university staff and evaluation teams for working tirelessly to achieve the historic feat.
University officials emphasised that the success of the automated evaluation model reflects VTU’s commitment toward digital transformation, transparency and academic efficiency. Education experts believe the achievement could become a benchmark for universities across India, aiming to modernise their examination systems.
The rapid result declaration has also generated strong reactions among students and parents on social media, with many describing the initiative as a revolutionary step in engineering education administration.
