A fire broke out in the B1 coach of the Thiruvananthapuram–Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express, but all passengers were evacuated safely
Bhopal: Panic gripped passengers aboard the Thiruvananthapuram–Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express after a fire broke out in one of the coaches while the train was passing through Madhya Pradesh early Sunday morning. Railway officials confirmed that all passengers were safely evacuated and no injuries were reported.
According to railway authorities, the incident occurred at around 5.15 am in Train No. 12431, the Rajdhani Express, while it was moving between Luni Richha and Vikramgarh Alot stations.
Officials said smoke and flames were first noticed in the rear SLR coach and the B1 coach, creating panic among passengers.
Passengers Evacuated in Time
As soon as the fire was detected, railway staff acted immediately and safely evacuated passengers from the affected coach. Emergency response teams also rushed to the spot to control the situation.
Authorities later separated the affected coach from the train to prevent the fire from spreading to other compartments, helping avoid a major railway disaster.
No Injuries Reported
Railway officials confirmed that no passengers or railway personnel were injured in the incident. A technical inspection has now been launched to determine the exact cause of the fire.
Railway Safety Investigation Begins
Officials from Indian Railways have initiated a detailed investigation into the incident. Preliminary findings suggest a possible technical fault, though the exact cause will be confirmed only after the inspection report.
Train services on the route were briefly affected before normal operations resumed.
