Oil companies assure uninterrupted petrol, diesel and LPG supply across Karnataka amid panic-buying fears linked to Israel-Iran tensions
Bengaluru: Amid growing rumours of petrol, diesel and LPG shortages due to escalating tensions between Israel and Iran, public sector oil companies have clarified that fuel supply across Karnataka remains completely normal and uninterrupted.
The clarification came after panic buying was reported at several fuel stations, where consumers rushed to stock extra petrol and diesel, fearing possible supply disruptions triggered by the ongoing geopolitical situation in the Middle East.
Siddharth Agarwal, State Level Coordinator of the Oil Industry in Karnataka,, representing Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, assured citizens that there is no shortage of fuel or cooking gas anywhere in the state.
According to the official statement, all retail outlets, depots, terminals and LPG bottling plants are operating smoothly and fuel distribution is continuing without restrictions.
Petrol Diesel Shortage Rumours Trigger Panic Buying
Rumours surrounding possible disruptions in petroleum supplies intensified after concerns emerged globally over the impact of the Israel-Iran conflict on oil and gas markets.
In several places, worried consumers reportedly queued up at petrol pumps to purchase and store additional fuel amid fears of shortages or price spikes.
However, oil companies have now urged citizens not to engage in panic buying and clarified that adequate stock of petrol, diesel and LPG is available throughout Karnataka’s supply chain.
“Fuel distribution operations at all retail outlets are continuing smoothly and supply is being strictly maintained without any restrictions,” the oil industry statement said.
Karnataka Fuel Distribution Operating Smoothly
Officials stated that petroleum product stocks are available in sufficient quantities across terminals, depots and retail outlets, while replenishment operations are being carried out continuously to meet consumer demand efficiently.
The statement also confirmed that domestic LPG cylinder supply remains stable and deliveries are progressing normally across Karnataka.
To ensure uninterrupted availability, public sector oil companies are reportedly coordinating closely on logistics management, inventory monitoring and distribution planning.
Authorities said the overall fuel supply situation in Karnataka is stable and under continuous observation.
Oil Companies Urge Public To Avoid Panic Purchases
The oil industry has appealed to citizens to purchase fuel only as required and avoid unnecessary panic due to unverified rumours circulating on social media and messaging platforms.
Consumers have also been advised to rely only on official announcements issued by authorised oil companies for accurate updates regarding fuel availability and supply conditions.
The clarification comes as global oil market volatility continues to remain under focus due to ongoing international tensions affecting energy trade and transportation routes.
