School management issued a written apology after a three-year-old girl and her mother were allegedly humiliated at a private school in Mathura
Mathura: A shocking incident from a private school in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura district has triggered outrage after a nursery student was allegedly punished for vomiting inside the classroom. At the same time, her mother was reportedly forced to clean the school floor. The incident, reported from the Govind Nagar police station area, has raised serious concerns over the treatment of children in educational institutions.
The controversy erupted at Balaji Memorial Public School, where a three-year-old nursery student reportedly fell ill and vomited during school hours on May 8. Instead of providing medical attention or immediate care, the school management allegedly subjected the child and her mother to humiliating treatment.
According to the family, the young girl was allegedly scolded and made to stand with her hands raised for nearly two hours after the incident. The child’s mother, Priyanka, was later called to the school by the administration.

The girl’s family alleged that upon reaching the school, the mother was handed a cloth and instructed to mop the floor where the child had vomited. Reports stated that the mother first attended to her daughter and gave her water before cleaning the premises.
The incident reportedly went undisclosed for several days before members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad learned of it and staged a protest on the school premises.
“The child should have been cared for, not punished,” local activists reportedly said during the protest.
The incident quickly drew public criticism, with parents and local residents questioning the school’s handling of the situation and demanding accountability from the administration.

Following the protest, Ravi Tyagi arrived at the school along with police personnel to assess the situation. A detailed discussion reportedly took place between police officials, the school administration, and the girl’s family.
After the intervention, school manager Dilip Kumar Singh issued a written apology acknowledging the mistake.
According to officials, the school management assured the family and authorities that such incidents would not be repeated in the future and that necessary corrections would be made in school procedures and discipline practices.
Written Apology Issued By School Management
The written apology by the school management reportedly stated that the handling of the incident was inappropriate and that corrective measures would be implemented to avoid similar situations.
The incident has sparked a wider debate on child safety, emotional well-being, and the responsibilities of schools in handling young children, particularly during medical or emergency situations.
Parents and child rights activists have demanded stricter monitoring of schools to ensure that children are treated with dignity, care, and sensitivity inside educational institutions.
