A 28-year-old man lost his life in a tragic lift accident near Kuntikana in Mangaluru after an elevator reportedly developed a technical fault
Mangaluru: A shocking workplace accident has been reported from Karnataka’s Mangaluru city, where a young employee died in a horrifying lift mishap inside a commercial mart near Kuntikana. The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Naufal, a resident of Poonjakere in Belthangady taluk.
According to preliminary information, Naufal had reportedly gone to the mart as part of his routine work duties when the incident occurred. Police said the lift reportedly got stuck between the first and second floors due to an alleged technical malfunction, trapping him inside.
Mall Elevator Malfunction Turns Fatal
After noticing that Naufal was trapped inside the lift, his co-workers rushed to rescue him and attempted to pull him out manually. However, during the rescue effort, the elevator suddenly began moving again.
In the tragic sequence of events, Naufal got trapped between the lift structure and the wall, suffering severe crush injuries. He died on the spot before medical help could arrive.
Police Investigation in Mangaluru Accident Case
The incident took place under the jurisdiction of the Urva Police Station. Police officials reached the scene, conducted an inspection, and began legal proceedings. Authorities are also expected to examine whether negligence or safety protocol violations contributed to the deadly accident.
