Father and two sons drowned in a farm pond at Nakkanahalli village while learning to swim in Kolar district
Kolar: A heartbreaking tragedy was reported from Kolar district after a father and his two young sons drowned in a farm pond at Nakkanahalli village in Malur taluk on Sunday.
According to police officials, the deceased have been identified as Srinivas (40), and his sons Chetan (13) and Rajesh (8). The tragic incident occurred under the jurisdiction of Masti Police Station.
Police stated that Srinivas had reportedly taken his children to teach them swimming as it was a holiday. While moving near a farm pond belonging to a local resident identified as Bhairappa, the family allegedly slipped and fell into the water.
Father and Sons Drown in Kolar Farm Pond
Authorities said the incident took place at Nakkanahalli village in Malur taluk, where the father was reportedly trying to teach swimming to his children near the pond.
According to preliminary information, the family accidentally lost balance near the edge of the pond and fell into the water.
Locals later discovered the incident and alerted police officials, but all three reportedly drowned before rescue efforts could save them.
“The father had reportedly taken the children for swimming lessons when the tragic accident occurred,” police sources stated.
The shocking incident has created grief in the village and surrounding areas.
Masti Police Register Case in Drowning Incident
Police officials from Masti Police Station visited the spot and conducted an inspection following the incident.
Authorities have registered a case and initiated further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the drowning.
The incident has once again raised concerns regarding safety near open farm ponds and water bodies, especially involving children during holidays and summer outings.
Two Bikers Killed in Srinivaspur Road Accident
In another tragic incident reported from Kolar district, two bike riders died in a head-on collision between a car and a motorcycle near Enamarepalli Cross in Srinivaspur taluk.
Police identified the deceased as Muniraju (43) from Enamarepalli village and Satish (38) from Panasamakalahalli village.
According to investigators, the two men were travelling on a motorcycle when a speeding car allegedly rammed into their bike. Both riders suffered severe injuries and reportedly died on the spot due to excessive bleeding.
The collision also caused serious damage to the front portion of the car, while occupants travelling in the vehicle reportedly sustained injuries and were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police from Srinivaspur Police Station reached the scene, conducted an inspection and registered a case for further investigation.
