Yapaladinni police arrest four accused linked to murder and a minor girl kidnapping case after an interstate manhunt

Raichur: Police in Raichur have arrested four accused persons, including the main suspects allegedly involved in the murder of a villager and the kidnapping of a minor girl from Yapaladinni village, following a large-scale interstate operation spanning Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra.

According to police officials, the accused were traced and arrested from Solapur after allegedly remaining absconding for several days following the incident that occurred earlier this month.

Authorities stated that separate cases under murder, kidnapping and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act have been registered at the Yapaladinni Police Station.

Raichur Villager Murdered After Allegedly Questioning Accused

Police said the incident reportedly took place during the early hours of May 5 when a 14-year-old minor girl from Yapaladinni village in Raichur taluk was allegedly being taken away by the accused, identified as Aslam.

According to the investigation, villagers were asleep at the time when local resident Eshappa allegedly noticed suspicious movement and voices near his house at around 2 am.

Police stated that when Eshappa reportedly came downstairs and questioned the individuals present, the accused allegedly attacked him.

Investigators allege that Aslam and another accused, identified as Hussain, tied a rope around Eshappa’s neck and allegedly strangled him to death before fleeing from the village along with the minor girl.

“The accused allegedly escaped across multiple states after the murder and kidnapping incident,” police sources stated.

Police Trace Accused Across Three States Before Arrest

Following the incident, the accused allegedly travelled through multiple locations to evade arrest. According to police, the group initially moved from Yapaladinni to Gadwal before travelling to Kurnool and Hyderabad.

Investigators later tracked the suspects to Solapur in Maharashtra, where they were reportedly hiding.

The Yapaladinni police team subsequently arrested the main accused, identified as Aslam, Hussain, Jamir and Badesab and produced them before the court before sending them to judicial custody.

Minor Girl Shifted to Children’s Home After Rescue

Police officials confirmed that the rescued minor girl has now been shifted to a children’s home for protection and care as per legal procedures.

Authorities stated that further investigation into the case is ongoing, including examination of the role of each accused person and additional evidence connected to the incident.
