Nahan: Eternal University in Himachal Pradesh’s Sirmaur district has come under intense scrutiny after serious allegations emerged that a sanitation worker secretly recorded videos of girl students inside the washrooms of the university’s girls’ hostel.
According to reports, several students alleged that videos were filmed inside the hostel bathrooms without their knowledge or consent. The accusations sparked outrage across the campus, with students demanding immediate action from the university administration and stronger safety measures inside hostel premises.
The incident reportedly came to light after students noticed suspicious activity and raised concerns with university authorities. As news spread inside the campus, tensions escalated and students staged protests demanding accountability and a transparent investigation.
Students Protest Over Hostel Bathroom Privacy Breach
Students expressed anger over what they described as a serious breach of privacy and hostel security. Protesters questioned how such an incident could allegedly take place inside a women’s hostel despite existing surveillance and campus monitoring systems.
Sources claimed that despite being informed about the allegations, the university administration allegedly took nearly two-and-a-half hours to inform the police, even as protests intensified within the campus premises.
The delay in reporting the matter reportedly further angered students, many of whom demanded immediate suspension of those involved and stricter safety mechanisms for female students.
“Students were deeply disturbed and demanded swift action after the allegations surfaced,” sources familiar with the incident stated.
Police Begin Investigation at Eternal University
Following the complaint, officials from Pachhad Police reached the university campus on Friday afternoon and initiated a formal investigation into the allegations.
Police teams reportedly began collecting statements from students, hostel staff, and university officials while examining possible evidence linked to the case. Authorities have not yet publicly confirmed the authenticity of any alleged recordings.
Officials are expected to investigate whether any digital devices were used to secretly capture footage inside hostel washrooms and whether additional individuals may have been involved.
