Hydro ganja and MDMA worth Rs 14.75 crore recovered in twin Bengaluru raids by Nandini Layout and Yeshwanthpur police, international links under probe
Bengaluru: In a major crackdown on organised narcotics trafficking in Bengaluru, city police have seized illegal drugs worth Rs 14.75 crore in two separate operations carried out by Bengaluru City Police.
Officials confirmed that a total of 13.7 kilograms of narcotic substances, including Hydro Ganja and MDMA crystals, were recovered during coordinated raids conducted by Nandini Layout Police Station and Yeshwanthpur Police Station.
A total of six accused have been arrested so far
Nandini Layout Operation: Hydro Ganja Worth Rs. 5.75 Crore Seized
Acting on credible intelligence, Nandini Layout police arrested two suspected drug peddlers from Kerala.
The accused, identified as Saugesh and Altaf, were allegedly found in possession of 5.7 kg of Hydro Ganja valued at approximately Rs 5.75 crore.
Investigators suspect the contraband was allegedly sourced through international channels and intended for illegal distribution within Bengaluru.
Police sources also indicate that the accused may have faced previous cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act).
Yeshwanthpur Operation: MDMA Worth Rs. 9 Crore Recovered
In another major operation, Yeshwanthpur police arrested four more suspects, Syed Suhail, Mohammed Sameer, Sadiq Pasha, and Mohammed Haq.
Officials seized 8 kilograms of MDMA crystals, estimated to be worth ₹9 crore in the illegal market.
Police also recovered one car and five mobile phones believed to be linked to the narcotics network.
Investigators suspect the accused were allegedly sourcing drugs through foreign contacts, including links being examined involving Nigerian nationals. One of the arrested suspects, Syed Suhail, is reportedly listed as a rowdy-sheeter connected to earlier criminal cases.
“This appears to be a larger, organised network with interstate and possible international links.”
International Drug Link Under Probe
Police are now expanding the investigation to trace the financial trail, digital communication records, and overseas supply channels connected to the seized narcotics.
Authorities say further arrests are possible as the investigation continues.
