Yelahanka delivery worker found dead in Allalasandra canal, police arrest four, including a minor girl’s father. Probe points to planned revenge attack
Bengaluru: In a sensational murder case from Bengaluru, police have arrested four accused, including the father of a minor girl, in connection with the killing of a man who had earlier been accused in a POCSO case.
The deceased has been identified as Ramesh Srisail Pattadakalmath (36), originally from Mudhol. His body was recovered from a stormwater canal near Allalasandra, triggering a major police investigation.
Body Found in Canal, Suspicion Leads to Breakthrough
According to investigators, Ramesh had been working as a food delivery worker in Bengaluru and was staying in a paying guest accommodation in the Yelahanka area.
After the body was discovered, police informed family members and conducted a post-mortem at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Hospital.
During questioning, relatives reportedly raised suspicion against the father of the minor girl linked to the earlier case, as well as another suspect.
Four Arrested in Planned Revenge Killing
Following detailed investigation, police arrested four accused, including the girl's father, along with Chinnayya Mathapati (29), Chetan Madar (26), and Vinayak Guruva (19).
Investigators suspect the murder was allegedly planned as an act of revenge linked to an earlier criminal case involving the deceased.
Police say the accused allegedly brought Ramesh to a bar, later attacked him, and then disposed of the body in the canal to hide evidence.
Background of the Case
Officials said Ramesh had been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) in 2022 in connection with allegations involving a minor.
Investigators believe concerns over the girl’s safety may have escalated tensions, eventually leading to the alleged murder conspiracy.
“The accused allegedly planned the attack in advance and attempted to dispose of the body to avoid detection.”
Police have confirmed that the investigation is still ongoing, and additional forensic and digital evidence is being examined.
