Belagavi: A devastating road accident on the outskirts of Raybag town in Karnataka’s Belagavi district claimed the lives of three members of a family, including a nine-month-old infant, after a goods auto allegedly came from the wrong side and rammed into their motorcycle early Tuesday morning.

The tragic incident occurred near Raybag town when the victims were travelling from Bommanal village towards Raybag. The deceased have been identified as Mahantesh Mane, 27, his wife Sakshi Mane, 23, and their nine-month-old son Samarth. According to preliminary police investigations, Mahantesh was riding the motorcycle along with his family when a speeding goods auto reportedly entered the wrong lane and collided head-on with the bike. The impact of the crash was so severe that the couple and the infant were thrown onto the road, suffering fatal injuries and excessive blood loss.

Eyewitnesses stated that the accident created panic in the area as locals rushed to rescue the injured child and alert emergency services. By the time help arrived, the parents and the infant had already succumbed to their injuries on the spot.
