Villagers in Mudigere panic after massive snake spotted outside residence in K Thalaguru village


Chikkamagaluru: Panic gripped K. Thalaguru village in Mudigere taluk of Chikkamagaluru after a massive 10-foot-long King Cobra was found resting at the doorstep of a house on Monday morning.


According to villagers, the venomous snake reportedly entered the residential area in search of a cool shaded place amid rising temperatures. The giant cobra was spotted lying near the entrance of the house belonging to Manjunath Achar, leaving family members shocked and terrified.


The sight of the massive reptile quickly drew attention from nearby residents, creating fear and tension in the village.


King Cobra Rescue in Mudigere

After noticing the snake, villagers immediately alerted well-known snake rescuer Snake Arif, who rushed to the location and carried out the rescue operation.


Arif carefully captured the King Cobra using safety equipment while ensuring that residents stayed away from the area during the operation.

“The snake appeared to have entered the area searching for a cool shelter due to the heat,” locals said after the rescue.

The rescue operation attracted a crowd of curious villagers, many of whom watched from a distance as the reptile was safely secured.


King Cobra Released in Charmadi Forest

Following the successful rescue, the snake was safely released into the Charmadi forest region away from human habitation.

Villagers later expressed relief after the cobra was removed from the residential locality without causing harm to anyone.

Incidents involving King Cobras entering villages near forest regions are occasionally reported during extreme weather conditions, especially in areas surrounded by dense greenery and wildlife habitats.
