Sameer Pramanik seeks justice as father Jagdish Pramanik remains untraced since October 2024, serious questions raised over lack of investigation by Tiruldih police
Saraikela: A deeply concerning missing person case from Jharkhand has resurfaced after over one and a half years of alleged police inaction, with the family of Jagdish Pramanik still awaiting any breakthrough in his disappearance from Bengaluru in October 2024.
According to the complaint filed by his son, Sameer Pramanik, Jagdish Pramanik, a resident of Tiruldih in Seraikela-Kharsawan district, had travelled to Nelamangala, Bengaluru, on October 18, 2024, along with an acquaintance identified as Sudhir Gop. He reportedly reached Bengaluru on October 21, 2024.
“The police are neglecting us and not responding properly. We have approached them many times, but they have ignored us. We also contacted my father’s acquaintances, who claimed a complaint was filed at the Nelamangala police station, but there has been no response. Something is not right. I just want my father to return safely,” he said.
Despite initial claims of local search efforts, the family states that no concrete leads have emerged even after 18 months, intensifying fears of an untoward incident.
“It has been more than a year and a half, and we still have no information. We fear something serious may have happened,” the family stated.
Repeated appeals by the family for updates and action have allegedly gone unanswered, leaving them in prolonged distress and uncertainty.
Experts highlight that in missing person cases involving travel across states, timely response, digital tracking, and coordination between jurisdictions are critical, and delays can significantly reduce the chances of locating individuals.
As of now, no official statement has been issued by the concerned police authorities regarding the current status of the investigation. The family continues to seek answers, hoping for a breakthrough even after 18 months of uncertainty.
