32-year-old techie Nishant dies after falling from the second floor during a clash at Purple Hedge pub, police probe possible push and register murder case

Mysuru: A late-night pub brawl turned fatal in Mysuru city after a 32-year-old software engineer died following a fall from the second floor of a building during a heated clash, with police now probing a possible murder angle.

Brawl at Pub Ends in Tragedy
The incident occurred at the Purple Hedge restaurant in Vijayanagara Second Phase, where Nishant, a resident of Gokulam and a software engineer working in Bengaluru, had gone for a party with friends.

What began as a verbal altercation over a trivial issue soon escalated into pushing and shoving between two groups, leading to a chaotic situation.

Victim Fell During Heated Clash
According to initial reports, Nishant was leaving the pub along with his friends Sandeep and Dixit when they were confronted by another group led by Rocky. The confrontation quickly turned physical.

Amid the commotion, Nishant fell from the second floor, suffering critical injuries. He was rushed to a private hospital, but succumbed to injuries, reportedly due to complications during treatment.

Murder Allegations Surface
Serious allegations have emerged suggesting that Nishant was deliberately pushed off the floor, turning the case into a suspected homicide rather than an accident.

“There are allegations that the victim was pushed during the altercation, and all angles are being investigated.”

Police Register Case, Probe Intensifies
A case has been registered at the Vijayanagara Police Station, and police have launched a detailed investigation to determine the exact sequence of events. Officials are examining CCTV footage, witness statements, and forensic evidence to establish whether it was an accidental fall or a planned act.
