Hubballi: The alleged ‘Love Jihad’ case in Hubballi has taken a serious and disturbing turn, with fresh allegations surfacing that have intensified the ongoing investigation. Authorities are now probing claims that the accused, gym trainer Sameer, lured a young woman with promises of a modeling career, sexually exploited her, and forced her to undergo an abortion after she became pregnant.

The Vidyanagar police in Hubballi have initiated the process of collecting medical records and examination reports to verify the latest allegations. Sources indicate that investigators suspect the young woman may have been pressured into terminating her pregnancy, adding a critical dimension to the case. According to the complaint filed by the young woman’s parents, Sameer allegedly manipulated her aspirations of becoming a model. He reportedly encouraged her to attend the gym regularly, assuring her of opportunities in the modelling industry. Trusting these assurances, the young woman grew close to him.

“He promised to make her a big model and asked her to come to the gym daily. She believed him, and he misused that trust,” the complaint states.

The family has further alleged that Sameer exploited the relationship and sexually abused the young woman, leading to pregnancy.

Case Background: Sedation, Assault, and Blackmail Charges

The case was initially registered at the Vidyanagar police station on charges of love jihad, sexual assault, and blackmail. The complaint accuses Sameer of taking the woman to a hotel, administering a sedative through a cold drink, and sexually assaulting her. It also alleges that he recorded the act and used the footage to threaten and blackmail her.

Accused Denies Charges, Claims Video Was Filmed by Victim

In a counter-claim that has further complicated the case, Sameer has denied administering any substance and rejected all major allegations. He admitted that a video exists but insisted that he did not record it.

“Yes, the video was recorded, but I didn’t shoot it. It was filmed on her phone. I was the one who lost consciousness that day, not her,” Sameer claimed.
