New Delhi: In a disturbing development in the high-profile murder case of an IRS officer’s daughter in Delhi’s Amar Colony, investigators have uncovered a chilling sequence of events that unfolded within approximately 41 minutes, revealing the calculated actions of the accused after the crime.
According to Delhi Police, the accused, identified as Rahul Meena, allegedly attempted to access a digital locker using the victim’s fingerprint after the murder. When the biometric attempt failed, he reportedly broke open the locker and fled with cash and valuables, indicating that robbery was part of the motive.
Planned Entry and Knowledge of Household Routine
Police sources indicate that the accused was familiar with the household and its routine. He allegedly entered the premises early in the morning using a spare key, after misleading locals who questioned his presence in the area.
Investigators believe he was aware that the victim’s parents were not at home at the time, suggesting premeditation and prior surveillance.
Crime and Attempt to Destroy Evidence
During the incident, the accused allegedly attacked the victim when she resisted. After the crime, he attempted to alter his appearance and destroy evidence by changing clothes inside the house before leaving the premises.
CCTV footage reportedly captured him exiting the location shortly after the incident, helping investigators establish the timeline.
“The sequence suggests planning, familiarity with the premises, and attempts to evade detection,” a senior police official said.
Robbery Angle and Financial Motive Under Probe
Police have stated that the accused’s actions indicate a robbery angle, though investigators are also examining whether personal motives or resentment played a role.
Initial findings suggest the accused was under financial stress linked to online betting, which may have influenced his actions. Authorities are verifying these claims as part of the ongoing investigation.

Accused Arrested After Multi-Team Operation
The Delhi Police formed multiple teams to track down the suspect. Using CCTV footage and local leads, officials traced an auto driver who had transported the accused, which eventually led them to a hotel in Dwarka, where he was hiding.
He was subsequently arrested and taken into custody, and further interrogation is underway.
