Probe into disappearance of two students under Vidyaranyapura limits escalated, CID takes charge as families seek answers after 3 months

Bengaluru: The investigation into the mysterious disappearance of two PU students, Tanishka and Tejaswini, in Bengaluru has been officially transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), marking a significant development in the case that has remained unresolved for over three months.

The students went missing on January 31 from the jurisdiction of Vidyaranyapura Police Station and have not been traced despite multiple investigative efforts.

No Breakthrough Despite CCTV Footage and Initial Leads
According to police sources, both students had left their homes carrying their Aadhaar cards, and CCTV footage capturing their movements was available during the initial stages of the probe. However, investigators have failed to identify any concrete leads or location clues that could establish their whereabouts.

The prolonged lack of progress has raised serious concerns among the families and the public.

Parents Approach High Court, Seek CBI Probe
Frustrated by the slow pace of the investigation, the parents of the missing students had earlier demanded that the case be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

They also filed a habeas corpus petition before the Karnataka High Court, urging authorities to intensify efforts and ensure the safe recovery of their children.

Case File Handed Over to CID for Further Investigation
Following mounting pressure, the Vidyaranyapura Police Station has now transferred the entire case file and investigation report to the CID. The specialised agency is expected to deploy advanced investigative techniques and dedicated teams to trace the missing students.

“The CID will now take over the investigation and continue the search operations,” officials confirmed.

Hope for Breakthrough as CID Steps In
With the case now under CID jurisdiction, there is renewed hope that the investigation will gain momentum and uncover crucial evidence that could lead to the whereabouts of Tanishka and Tejaswini.

Authorities have stated that all possible angles will be examined, and further updates will be shared as the probe progresses.
