Massive tragedy averted in Nandini Layout after fire breaks out in the banner warehouse and spreads toward the four-storey PG near Rajkumar Memorial

Bengaluru: A major disaster was narrowly averted in Bengaluru after a fire broke out in a banner warehouse in Nandini Layout, forcing nearly 50 young women staying in a nearby paying guest (PG) accommodation to flee for their lives.

The fire reportedly started near the Rajkumar Memorial area and quickly spread toward an adjacent four-storey PG building, creating scenes of panic.

Women Jumped and Ran to Save Lives
According to reports, residents noticed flames and smoke moving toward the PG building and immediately rushed to escape.

Several women reportedly screamed for help while running downstairs, while some are said to have jumped from safer lower levels or balconies to avoid being trapped.
Witnesses described chaotic moments as residents abandoned their belongings and rushed out in fear.
“Seconds mattered as the fire moved toward the building and panic spread instantly.”
CCTV Captures Frightening Escape
CCTV visuals reportedly show women rushing out of the building in panic, shouting and trying to reach safety as smoke intensified nearby.
The footage has since drawn widespread attention and highlighted how quickly the incident escalated.

Fire Began in the Banner Warehouse
Initial reports state the fire started in a nearby godown used for storing banners and related materials.
Because such warehouses may contain flammable items like flex material, cloth, plastic and printing supplies, flames can spread rapidly once ignited.
The exact cause of the fire has not yet been officially confirmed.
Disaster Averted, No Major Casualties Reported
Authorities say the quick reaction of residents helped prevent a bigger tragedy.
At the time of reporting, no large-scale casualties had been confirmed, though some individuals may have suffered shock or minor injuries during the escape.
