Cubbon Park police uncover shocking links of assault, interstate rivalry and death threats behind Suresh Kumar Purohit’s suicide, FIR registered against five accused
Bengaluru: In a shocking development, the mysterious suicide of a man in Cubbon Park has taken a dramatic turn, with police uncovering a trail of assault, intimidation and interstate rivalry that allegedly pushed the victim to take the extreme step.
The deceased, identified as Suresh Kumar Purohit, a native of Rajasthan, was found hanging in the park nearly 20 days ago. What initially appeared to be a case of suicide has now emerged as a disturbing sequence of violence and threats, prompting police to register an FIR against five individuals.
“He was threatened with dire consequences and physically attacked. The pressure appears to have forced him into taking this extreme decision,” sources said.
Following the confrontation, Jabararam reportedly threatened Suresh Kumar, claiming he would “teach him a lesson” with the help of associates in Bengaluru.
Suresh, sensing danger, had reportedly informed his brother about the threats and the looming attack. Despite this, he was allegedly assaulted by the accused when he stepped out after a meal at a hotel in the city.
Acting on the complaint, Cubbon Park police registered an FIR against five accused, marking a significant breakthrough in the case.
Police officials have confirmed that further investigation is underway to establish the sequence of events and secure arrests in connection with the case.
