Vijayanagara: In a heartbreaking tragedy, two young brothers lost their lives after drowning in the Tungabhadra River in Harapanahalli taluk of Vijayanagara district.

The deceased have been identified as Manu (19) and Prajwal (18). The incident unfolded in Halavagalu village, leaving the entire community in deep shock.

According to reports, the brothers had gone to the river along with their father, Manjappa, and another sibling for a swim. During the activity, Manu and Prajwal lost control and were swept away by the strong currents, leading to their tragic deaths.

Third Son Narrowly Escapes
In a moment of presence of mind, the father managed to save his third son, Chiranjeevi, preventing another fatality. Despite desperate attempts, the two brothers could not be rescued in time.
“The incident happened suddenly, and the current was strong. The father managed to save one child, but two lives were lost,” local sources said.
Family in Deep Grief
The loss has left the family devastated, with heart-wrenching scenes of grief as relatives mourn the untimely deaths of the two young brothers.

Police Action
A case has been registered at the Halavagalu Police Station, and authorities are conducting further investigation into the incident.
