A speeding car rammed into a stationary bus on Bengaluru National Highway; three dead on the spot, driver was critically injured
Bengaluru: In a devastating road accident, three members of a Bengaluru-based family lost their lives while travelling for darshan at Tirupati Venkateswara Temple, turning a spiritual journey into a tragic end.
The accident occurred on the Bengaluru National Highway near Bangarupalem’s Palamakulapalli area, where a speeding car rammed into a stationary bus. The impact was so severe that a couple and their 4-year-old daughter died instantly at the scene, while the car driver sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital.
How the Accident Happened
According to initial reports, a bus travelling from Palamaner to Chittoor had halted along the highway near Bangarupalem. At that moment, a car approaching from behind crashed into the stationary bus at high speed, leading to the fatal collision.
The force of the crash left the victims trapped inside the mangled vehicle, requiring police to deploy a JCB to extricate the car from beneath the rear of the bus.
Victims were en route to Darshan
Sources revealed that the family had planned a visit to Tirupati and had booked darshan tickets scheduled for 12 noon. Tragically, they never reached their destination, losing their lives midway during the journey.
Driver Battles for Life
The car driver, who survived the crash, is currently in critical condition, undergoing treatment at a hospital. Authorities are closely monitoring his health status.
Preliminary Cause Points to Overspeeding
Early investigations suggest that overspeeding may have been the primary cause of the accident. Police officials are collecting further details about the victims and the circumstances leading to the crash.
