Bengaluru: In a major capacity-building initiative to empower women in media, the Karnataka Media Academy has invited applications for a special three-day residential training programme exclusively for women journalists. The initiative is being conducted in collaboration with Infosys under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
The training will be held from March 25 to 27 at the Infosys campus in Mysuru, offering focused sessions on digital media, artificial intelligence, and soft skills development. The last date to apply is March 10.
Who Is Eligible to Apply
According to the official release, women journalists with a minimum of five years of professional experience in media organisations listed under the Department of Information and Public Relations are eligible to apply. The programme is designed to enhance digital adaptability and leadership skills among mid-career women media professionals.
Eligible participants selected for the programme will receive a travel allowance, making the residential training more accessible to journalists from across Karnataka.
Training Focus: Digital Transformation and AI in Journalism
The academy stated that the workshop aims to equip women journalists with emerging tools in digital storytelling, AI-assisted reporting, newsroom innovation, and communication skills essential for modern media ecosystems.
“The initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen the role of women journalists in the rapidly evolving digital media landscape,” the release noted.

Applicants are required to upload the following mandatory documents while registering:
• Age certificate
• Confirmation letter from the head of the current media organisation or official identity card
• Proof that the media organisation is listed in the valid list of the Department of Information and Public Relations
• Documentary proof of at least five years of service experience
Incomplete applications or those submitted after March 10 will not be considered, the academy clarified.
