Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), in collaboration with the Directorate of Minorities and the Social Welfare Department of Karnataka, has launched a free driving training program for heavy and light vehicles. The initiative, part of the PM Ajay Scheme, targets Scheduled Caste and minority beneficiaries, providing skill development and official licenses from the Transport Department.
Program Details and Eligibility
The program offers one month of free driving training, including food and accommodation, for candidates from minority communities such as Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Jain, Buddhist, and Parsi, aged 18 to 45 years, who have passed SSLC.
Training centers across Karnataka include Malavalli, Malur, Hassan, Chikmagalur, and Holalkere, with applications open online at ksrtcjobs.karnataka.gov.in or directly at the nearest training center.
Licensing and Employment Opportunities
The program is designed to empower beneficiaries by providing official heavy and light vehicle driving licenses and improving their employment prospects in transport and logistics sectors.
