Hundreds of residents at Ahad Serenity Apartment in Bengaluru stage a protest as repeated stray dog attacks injure children, spread fear, and force families to live under constant threat

Bengaluru: Panic and outrage gripped residents of Ahad Serenity Apartment in Bengaluru after repeated incidents of stray dog attacks allegedly left children and adults injured, prompting hundreds of families to stage a protest demanding urgent intervention from civic authorities.

According to residents, the stray dog menace has escalated over the past few weeks, with dogs reportedly entering the apartment premises in groups and attacking unsuspecting residents. The situation, they say, has turned into a daily nightmare, severely impacting the safety and mental well-being of families.

Children Among Worst Affected, Serious Injury Reported

One of the most alarming incidents occurred 24 days ago when a minor girl was allegedly attacked by a pack of stray dogs inside the apartment premises. Her father, speaking to News Flash Daily, said the dogs knocked her down during the attack, resulting in a fractured arm.

“My daughter’s arm was broken in the attack. She is still traumatized and refuses to go to school. We are living in constant fear,” the distressed parent said.

Residents claim such incidents are not isolated and that several other children and adults have faced aggressive chasing and attack attempts by stray dogs roaming freely within the gated community.

Residents Forced to Carry Sticks for Protection

The atmosphere inside the apartment complex has reportedly become so tense that many residents have started carrying sticks while walking, especially during early morning and late evening hours.

Parents allege that children are unable to step out to play, senior citizens are hesitant to take walks, and domestic workers are also fearful of entering the premises due to the aggressive behavior of the dogs.

Despite multiple complaints to local authorities, residents claim that no permanent or effective solution has been implemented so far.

Growing Anger Over Alleged Civic Inaction

Protesters gathered within the apartment premises, raising slogans and demanding immediate action to ensure their safety. They urged the local administration to conduct proper stray dog management measures and restore a sense of security within the community.

Residents emphasized that while they understand animal welfare concerns, human safety must be prioritized, especially when repeated attacks are being reported.

They have appealed to the concerned civic bodies to intervene without delay and implement strict monitoring, relocation, or sterilization measures to control the growing stray dog population in and around the apartment.
